Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Marbl.Ink (the "Service"), a boustrophedon writing and typesetting tool available at marbl.ink. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Marbl.Ink lets you write, format, preview, and export documents in boustrophedon and related layouts. We offer a free tier and paid subscription tiers with higher usage limits. We may add, change, or remove features over time.

2. Accounts

You need an account to save documents and manage a subscription. You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your password confidential, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at contact@marbl.ink if you believe your account has been accessed without authorization. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction to use the Service.

3. Your Content

You retain all ownership rights to the documents and other content you create or upload ("Your Content"). We do not claim ownership of Your Content. You grant us only the limited license necessary to store, process, display, and back up Your Content so that we can operate the Service for you — for example, saving your documents and rendering their preview and exports.

You are solely responsible for Your Content and for ensuring you have the rights to use it. You agree not to store or share content through the Service that is unlawful, infringing, or that violates the rights of others.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the Service in violation of any applicable law or regulation;
• attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or the systems or networks connected to it;
• interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the Service, or circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or security measures;
• reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service except as expressly permitted; or
• use the Service to store or transmit malware or to harass or harm others.

5. Subscriptions, Billing, and Cancellation

Paid tiers (currently "Basic" and "Ultra") are billed on a recurring basis — monthly or annual — through our payment processor, Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us and Stripe to charge your payment method for the applicable fees until you cancel.

You can cancel at any time from your dashboard. When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period, after which your account returns to the free tier. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. If a payment fails, we may downgrade or suspend paid features. We may change prices with reasonable prior notice; changes apply to billing periods that begin after the notice.

The free tier and paid tiers are subject to usage limits (such as the number of documents, lines, and pages). We may adjust these limits, and if you exceed a limit you may need to upgrade or remove content to continue.

6. Advertising

The Service may display advertisements to users on the free tier. Paid subscriptions remove these advertisements.

7. Availability and Changes

We work to keep the Service available and reliable, but we provide it on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time. We are not liable for any resulting unavailability of the Service or Your Content, and you are responsible for keeping your own copies of anything important (for example, by exporting your documents).

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, or that any content will be preserved without loss.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Marbl.Ink and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or if we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (such as content ownership, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
